To establish an AIE council, you would...

• Prepare a collateral package for mailing to prospective members and to the local press.
• Obtain current directories of the officers of local chapters of technical associations.
• Establish departmental contacts with colleges, universities and with alumni organizations.
• Establish relationships with your local businesses and industries.
• Foster relationships with the local print and electronic presses.
• Work with manufacturer's representatives.
• Elect Council officers.
• Publish your results on the AIE web site (www.members-aie.org), or your own Website
• Open a checking account and prepare a calendar of activities.
• Hire your Executive Director.

Just one hour per week...spent using your home telephone contacting engineers, scientists and mathematicians.

• Executive directors needed all over the country.
• Business maturity, acumen and bottom-line responsibility.
• Non-tech okay.
• Salary $5K-$125K.
• You can use toll free 800 telephone numbers, local calling and the Internet.

• Hint:  the individual responding could come from the hospitality or travel industry, advertising, technology, or from the fields of public relations or even politics.
